Eighteen-year-old Disney star, Demi Lovato, has pulled out of the world concert tour she shared with the Jonas Brothers, for “emotional and physical issues” according to her rep.
Lovato, star of the Disney show, Sunny with a Chance, admitted herself into a treatment center for eating and “cutting” disorders. Inside sources are saying her issues are connected to the bullying she received while in middle school. On a 2008 Ellen Degeneres Show, Lovato confessed that junior high bullying became so unbearable, that she dropped out and switched to a home schooling program.
We are all familiar with the many Hollywood stars who strive to be just a little thinner, and then fall prey to severe eating disorders, such as bulimia and anorexia. “Cutting” is where the individual inflicts pain upon themselves through a series of self-inflicted cutting wounds. It is always done to stop emotional pain, with a vast majority of victims coming from emotionally abusive environments, including schools.
The catalyst for Demi’s break was reportedly a physical altercation with a female backup dancer. The Jonas Brothers, in the meantime, will carry on with the tour.
